In July 2026, Alibaba's Qwen rolled out a series of notable updates spanning education, product launches, and strategic collaborations. On July 10, Qwen Gaokao integrated with China Post's EMS logistics system to offer real-time tracking and proactive alerts for college admission letters, enabling students and parents to stay informed about delivery progress instantly.
A significant move came on July 15, when Qwen and ByteDance's Doubao simultaneously shut down their AI agent functions. This decision aligned with the implementation of China's first regulations on AI anthropomorphic interaction services, which restrict certain anthropomorphic features to ensure compliance.
Qwen also expanded its product lineup: the Qwen Input Method App was launched on July 19, featuring AI auto-polishing, ad-free and pop-up-free experiences, and optimized voice input. Additionally, at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), Qwen unveiled its first AI earphone—a collaborative effort with Bose, boasting open-ear clip design and high-fidelity sound tuned by Bose's acoustic team.
Technologically, Qwen introduced the Qwen3.8 Max preview model (2.4T parameters) via its Token Plan personal edition on July 20, excelling in code engineering and professional office scenarios.
