On July 30, 2026, ByteDance unveiled a major organizational restructuring to integrate its AI and office productivity ecosystems. The company announced the merger of Feishu's product team with Doubao's product team, forming a new Doubao product team led by Doubao head Zhao Qi. Feishu's leader Xie Xin will now report to Zhao, a step intended to strengthen collaboration between Doubao (ByteDance's AI assistant), Feishu (collaboration platform), and Volcano Engine (cloud service) in enterprise productivity scenarios.
Alongside product team integration, ByteDance adjusted its go-to-market (GTM) structure: Feishu's GTM team and Volcano Engine's team merged into a new ToB GTM organization called the 'Creativity Service Platform', headed by Volcano Engine leader Tan Dai. Feishu's sales chief Lin Chan and strategy & market head Shi Zhijun will report to Tan, aligning sales and marketing efforts for enterprise solutions.
A key product update from the collaboration is the closed beta of Doubao Enterprise Edition, available to select Feishu clients. This tool is natively integrated into Feishu's ecosystem, requiring no extra deployment to connect docs, sheets, meetings, and group chats. It supports precise Q&A based on enterprise knowledge bases and intelligent content creation, plus robust security features like data isolation, permission controls, and audit trails.
For users, the integration brings embedded AI capabilities into Feishu: they can directly call Doubao to draft reports, create spreadsheets, or organize meeting minutes. Features like meeting summaries, document polishing, data processing, and task breakdown will be woven into Feishu's workflows.
User reactions are mixed: some early testers praise the embedded Doubao for generating Feishu docs/sheets on demand, while others worry about potential fee changes for Feishu or Doubao. Many hope for a seamless 'open Feishu → AI completes tasks → leave on time' experience.
Industry analysts see this as ByteDance prioritizing AI-to-B initiatives. With competitors like Tencent WorkBuddy and Alibaba Qianwen Office vying for AI office market share, the merger positions Feishu to evolve from a collaboration tool to an AI-infused workplace carrier.
